4 Simple Steps on Your Car

1Download the USB Zip

Click Download USB Installer above to save hndaa-wireless-usb.zip to your computer.

2Unzip Onto Any USB Stick

Extract the zip directly onto a FAT32 USB flash drive (≥ 1 GB) so recovery.sh and the hwaa folder are at the top level of the stick.

3Plug In, Wait for "Done" & Restart

Start the car and plug the stick into the car's USB port within 5 minutes. Wait for "Done" on screen—then turn the car off, open and close the driver's door, wait 2 minutes, and start it again.

4Scan the QR Code on Screen

Point your phone camera at the QR code on the dash screen. Your car unlocks automatically! Pair your phone over Bluetooth as usual.

How to put files on a USB stick (Windows & Mac, FAT32, any stick ≥ 1 GB)
  • Any standard USB 2.0 / 3.0 flash drive (1 GB to 32 GB) works best. Drives 32 GB and under are normally already formatted as FAT32.
  • Windows: Plug in your USB stick. Right-click it in File Explorer → Properties to confirm File system says FAT32 (if not, right-click → Format... → select FAT32). Right-click hndaa-wireless-usb.zip → Extract All... → choose your USB drive letter (e.g. E:\) so E:\recovery.sh and E:\hwaa\ sit right at the root, then click Safely Remove / Eject.
  • Mac: Open Disk Utility, select your USB stick, and confirm it says MS-DOS (FAT32) (if not, click Erase → Format: MS-DOS (FAT)). Double-click the downloaded zip and drag both recovery.sh and the hwaa folder directly onto the USB drive icon, then Eject.
  • Important: If your stick already has another recovery.sh on it (such as Honda Hack's installer), use a blank stick or move the old file off first.
