hwaa-result.txt Codes
Every time you plug your setup USB stick into the car, it writes a plain-English status file named hwaa-result.txt onto the stick. Plug the stick into your computer or phone to read the top line and match it below.

The USB stick didn't run. Check three things: (1) Honda Hack must be installed on the radio first, (2) plug the stick in within the first 5 minutes after starting the car, and (3) format the stick as FAT32 with recovery.sh + hwaa/ directly at the top level (not inside an extra subfolder). |
STARTED <time>(no result line below yet) |
The stick started running and was unplugged before finishing (~90 seconds). Start the car, plug the stick back in, and wait until the on-screen app says Done. |
OK_RESTART_CAR |
Install succeeded! Unplug the stick, turn the car off, open and close the driver's door, wait 2 minutes, then start the car and scan the QR code on screen. |
OK / ALREADY INSTALLED |
This version is already installed and verified on your radio. Open the Wireless AA app on your dash screen to view status or scan your activation QR code. |
E_NOT_SUPPORTED |
"Your radio software isn't supported yet. Nothing was changed." Your stock wired Android Auto is untouched. Open Support on the home page and attach hwaa-result.txt for an immediate 100% full refund (and optional notification when we add your build). |
E_NO_ROOT |
Root access wasn't available when the stick ran. Open Honda Hack on your car screen to confirm root is working, then try again. |
E_COPY |
A file on the USB stick didn't match its checksum (incomplete copy or drive wasn't ejected cleanly). Nothing on your car was changed. Re-extract the zip onto a freshly formatted FAT32 USB stick, safely eject it, and try again. |
E_PATCH_ROLLED_BACK |
The built-in health check saw Android Auto didn't start cleanly and automatically restored your stock file. Attach hwaa-result.txt via the Support button on our home page so we can inspect the log. |
E_SHIM |
